How continents are counted

The atlas uses the seven continents of the DXCC list, the ADIF standard and Islands on the Air: Africa, Antarctica, Asia, Europe, North America, Oceania and South America. The Worked All Continents award counts six, leaving out Antarctica, and the country files that contest software reads follow it, so some programs place the Antarctic entities in South America.
